Kids !

Being the last day of the CNY (chap gor meh), we had quite a fair bit of relatives who "popped" over my house on Sunday. My two favorite niece and nephew also turned up ! Before my nephew came to my house, he was at a cousin's birthday party. There was a balloon sculptor there, so he came to my house with a balloon sword.

After 2 hours, after he watched SHREK II vcd, he went to "retrieve" his sword. Much to his disappointment, the sword has actually "Kew Zui" (shrunk)... and he went to my aunt, asked her to help him blow some air into the balloon to make it original size again.

However, my aunty couldn't do that, that is already a "sculpted" balloon, could only let it slowly deflate on its own. Explained to my dear nephew that we couldn't do anything to it. Then his 十万个为什么 come liao.. keep asking WHY WHY WHY in reply to all our reasonings and excuses as to why we cannot "revive" the sword to original size. Before that, his mom told me something about him which his 举一反三 rebuttal is super the fast response !

So, now what is the issue? Kids getting smarter, but also getting on our nerves, to the extent that we do not know whether to be angry with them, to laugh at them, or to be proud of them...

情人节快乐 !!!

祝有情人终成眷属 !!!

Hmm... When will it be my turn leh?

To my UNCLE MICHAEL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU !
STAY CUTE AND HUMOUROUS ALWAYS !
MAY YOUR WISHES COME TRUE !

S$10 Million TOTO Ang Bao Draw is here !!!

Well well well... it's the time of the year again.. Yearly routine event for Singaporeans ever since it started in Year 2000. Over the past 6 years, since its inception in year 2000, the Toto Hongbao Draw has paid out $137 million in prizes to more than a million people. (extracted from Singapore Pools' website)

Last night's headlines on 晚报 was about die-hard fans queuing up at 7-11 Yishun 旺地.. And the queue started as early as 5am ! OMG.. It's a pain for me to wake up every morning at 545am, CFCM, so i don't understand why these weirdos can forgo their sleep just to go and stand there a few hours for a possible (?%) winning ticket.

Best part is, usually a few weeks before this famous draw, everyone will be busy speculating when the big draw will be.. We all know that it will definitely be within the 2nd week of the Lunar New Year (dat's why it's call the angbao draw), and it will fall either on Monday or Thursday (regular TOTO days) and the minimum prize money is S$10m. Hahaha.. but this year it's an exception ! Singapore Pools made their announcement last month that the draw will be on a FRIDAY this year (10th Feb) and the time of the draw is 10PM ! Lucky no. 10 ? or purely coincidental ?

Another favourite speculation before the draw is GUESS THE MOST FREQUENT NUMBER. Statistics shown that number 30 has appeared more than 130x over the past yrs draws. And it's younger brother number 29, has done well too - but in the other sense. It has the "LEAST FREQUENCY" title to its honour. To name a few, some top favourites are 11, 17, 20, 30, 41 etc.

So for all those TOTO fanatics out there, time to take out those bet slips and start crossing those numbers ! GOOD LUCK ! ( to me !)

A Day At the Zoo

Finally! After nearly a mth of no-post on this blog website, I got something to write about today!

Yupz.. went to the zoo last Sat. On the 7th Day of Chinese New Year (初七)
Since it was everyone's birthday, me went lo hei with 1 uncle, 4 aunties, 1 sister & 1 ah ma.
Early morning, we all gathered at ah ma's house, before heading out to Red Star 红星 for morning breakfast cum lou hei.

After breakfast, being Sat, hopes are high mah.. so we went to the Singapore Pools outlet downstairs and made our weekly "donation" there. Though long queue, we all were not deterred by it, still happily queue for it - and also bought some hopeful bet-slips for the $10m TOTO (hope at least I m among one of the winners this friday at 10pm)

Anyway, the best part happened after all of us made our donations.
Uncle Michael suddenly proposed to go for an outing - 8 of us. (八仙)
He asked if we want go see ah meng, or to go sentosa to see ah huay.. (flowers exhibit there)

We were all okay with either option. Of cos the final decision lies with our dear Lau Fo Ye (ah ma). So she said she rather see ah meng and gang.. so off we GO ! MANDAI ZOO !

Wow ! At the entrance, we were greeted by beautiful flower arrangements, and also some nice dog "bush" figurines. Here also can see ah huay leh.. no need go all the way to sentosa !

FYI - all discounts were suspended during the CNY period. They really know when to "ka" people arh.. and I heard that the number of visitors to the zoo each year during CNY is doubled as compared to normal days.

Inside the zoo - no need to write a lot here .. basically is look at the animals, the animals look at you. Just view these you will know..
