My First (& last) Rally of Election 2006
Last night was the first time that I attended the pre-election rally. Went to the one at Ang Mo Kio Street 52 - yupz.. the WP one. Heard so much about the BIG crowd that appeared at WP's rally(s), so I decided to experience one myself.
True enough, there were already a lot of people crowding in front of the stage (of cos the barrier is still there). Waving of flags and shouts added to the mood of the crowd. More people came by and by.. the whole grass field was filled with all kinds of people in less than one hour. Even the car park was filled with people, aunties and uncles squating there, just a nice comfortable place for them to rest their bums while listening to the rally. From where I stood, I also could see people standing outside their HDB flats listening to the rally. Wow wow wow.. So many people...
But hor.. sometimes it really makes me wonder.. whether the overwhelming crowd are really all supporters of WP? Or are they just there to listen to what the opposition has to say? Or they are just like me - there to experience the mood? hahaha... anyway, tomorrow says it all. So many of the media will be covering the vote results, so you guys just stay glued to TV at home lah...
